Ruben Hoppe, born in 1989 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance, has been principal double bass at the Stuttgart State Opera since 2015 and teaches double bass at the Detmold University of Music.
He studied with Prof. Dorin Marc at the Nuremberg University of Music and Performing Arts and with Prof. Nabil Shehata at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. Masterclasses have taken him to teachers such as Günter Klaus, Jeff Bradetich, and Catalin Rotaru.
Ruben Hoppe was a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra's Orchestra Academy and deputy principal double bass with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra. He regularly performs as guest principal bass with orchestras such as the HR Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, and the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne.
